Definition
The KATflow range of non-invasive flow meters uses ultrasonic technology for accurate flow measurement of liquids and liquefied gases in filled pipes.
The KATflow 230 is designed for service/maintenance and portable use to meet the needs of the Commissioning Engineer who wants to control the flow rate at different locations in the plant. Installation of the unit is simple with an installation wizard to obtain the required flow information within minutes.
Flow measurement is based on the principle that sound waves are affected by a current. The measurements are made by puncturing the tube with ultrasound and then clock differences, frequency variation and phase shifts of the ultrasonic signals when evaluated.
The ultrasonic sensor is thus clamped on the outside of the pipe, without the need to disconnect the pipe and interrupt the process. The KATflow 230 can be applied to any type of standard pipe carrying clean or contaminated liquids and liquefied gases.
Advantages
• Low installation effort and costs
• Measurement is independent of liquid conductivity
• No pressure loss, no possibility of leakage
• Retrospective setup for possible existing facilities
• No cutting of tubing required, no interruption of process, no plant shut down
• Additional parts required for maintenance
• Suitable for ultra clean liquids. Hygienic measurement, no risk of contamination,
• No contact with the medium used with aggressive media, no risk of corrosion
• Cost advantage when used with large diameter pipes, high pressure systems, etc.
• Transit time correlation measurement
• Dual DSP technology, encoded signals for better measurement accuracy
• Graphic display Two-channel portable unit
• Sensors for easy clamping, no process interrupted
• Noninvasive flow measurement of liquid or liquefied gases
• Optional wall thickness, heat quanity and sound velocity measurement
• Pipe diameters from "(3 m 118) 10 mm (4/10)" Suitable for all common pipe materials
