Fiber optic cables can be attached to communication equipment and patch panels to provide a physical connection to a network or device.

Fiber optic cables are used in numerous applications involving voice, video and data transmission. For example, it is used by commercial enterprises, governments, the military and many other industries. Example usage areas:

• In closed circuit television systems,
• In data transmission
• LAN & WAN and multimedia applications
• In connections between power plants
• Connecting active network devices at high speeds, connecting devices at long distances
• on billboards
• Devices used in medicine
• Where nuclear power plants and radio active beams disrupt communication
• It is also used in low-speed applications where electrical noise is high, and in applications that require point-to-point security.
